JOB DESCRIPTION

Tim Hortons Restaurant Manager duties will include but are not limited to:

• Order supplies and oversee building maintenance, cleanliness and security
• Accountable for execution of Always Fresh standards and waste levels
• Use restaurant specific information from the CPP (Continuous Performance Plan), plan and work to budgets, maximize profits and achieve sales and transaction targets, control food/paper/labor costs in the restaurant, and administer payroll
• Performance management including training and developing new and existing team members and motivating and encouraging team to achieve targets
• Build the restaurant’s bench strength by identifying and developing high potential employees for progression to the next level
• Set goals and objectives for the team
• Ensure open door policy for all team members
• Have excellent communication skills – ensure ongoing day to day communication with all shifts through communication log or other means
• Provide open communication with Operations Manager and District Manager
• Responsible for restaurant compliance with all applicable legislation
• Ensure high standards of guest experience are maintained and demonstrated as a top priority
• Implement and instill company policies, procedures, ethics in the team
• Respond to guest service concerns in a timely manner, resolving problems and turning potentially negative situations into positive situations
• Prepare reports and other performance analysis documentation
• Establish relationships with the local community and undertake activities which comply with the company’s corporate social responsibility programs
• Establish proper security procedures and ensure the reduction of team member theft and the safety of team members and guests
• Provide leadership and direction around waste management procedures
• Is familiar with and works in compliance with occupational health and safety legislation
• Use or wear personal protective equipment or clothing as required
• Operate any equipment, machine, device or thing, or otherwise work in a safe manner
• Know, understand and follow safe work practices and procedures
• Ensure restaurant has a health and safety program in place
• Take responsibility to ensure that team members are made aware of any hazards and that proper training is completed and documented
• Conduct regular workplace inspections
• Respond to and correct unsafe acts and conditions
• Report work-related injuries and illnesses
• Perform accident investigations for all work-related injuries and illnesses
• Enforce employee compliance in regard to the restaurant’s health and safety policies and procedures
• Initiate performance counseling and take disciplinary action for non-compliance in matters related to health and safety
• Keep the District Manager and Operations Manager apprised of any conditions or practices that may pose a hazard to employees
• Make recommendations for improvement to the restaurant’s health and safety practices and program

• Assist in the recruiting of new team members, training and developing existing team members and motivating and encouraging team to achieve targets
• Provide ongoing performance feedback and conduct and record regular performance reviews
• Assist the Restaurant Manager in building the restaurant’s bench strength by identifying and developing high potential employees for progression to the next level

• Lead by example and demonstrate the importance of treating every team member and guest with respect
• React immediately to issues requiring attention during the shift
• Provide ongoing, specific direction to team members

• Train, orientate and monitor new team members, using PTS and a feedback binder

• Provide important visual cues for guests that make a positive first impression. For example, wearing proper career wear that is clean and neatly pressed, maintaining a clean parking lot/exterior and a clean and inviting restaurant
• Follow the guaranteed Always Fresh procedure to ensure coffee and products are always fresh and always accurate.
• Deliver consistent and outstanding guest service through positive attitude, attentive behavior and strong product knowledge
• Enhance the guest experience by following the S.E.T. Principles: Smile, Eye Contact, Thank You
• Use proper procedures to ensure the accuracy of every order for every guest. For example, repeating guest’s order when it is presented to them, using H.O.T.R.O.D.S. at drive-thru and marking hot beverage lids
• Ensure every guest receives a prompt and warm greeting within five (5) seconds at front counter and drive-thru
• Maintain speed of service targets by working efficiently with a sense of urgency to fill orders and meet guests’ needs
• Promptly execute service recovery for any guest concerns regardless of involvement in the issue
• Follow all operations standards and guidelines for preparation of products and operation of equipment according to training and instructional materials provided
• Prepare all products as required, following the order monitor to ensure the accuracy of every order
• Communicate showcase and product needs to ensure proper product availability for guests
• Regularly take temperature of the required products and record in the Time & Temperature Log
• Follow all restaurant policies, procedures and standards
